Reinstall Windows XP (Dell laptop)

• Format and install Windows XP
• Run driver installations (Dell's drive disc)
• When connected to internet, update windows updating mechnism, update to service pack 2 then service pack 3 then install the rest of the security patches (about 60 of them). IE8 was one of the updates.

System

• Install HP wireless printer driver (original disc doesn't support Win7, need to download from HP website)
• Reconnect to NAS box
• Set up scan to network folders in the HP printer (not needed in the future as it's set to the NAS box)

Install common tools

• Google PinYin
• Google toolbar for IE8
• 1-click answers http://www.answers.com/main/start_downloading.jsp
• Microsoft Security Essentials
• Firezilla FTP client
• Install Adobe reader
• Install TextPad
• Install PDFCreator http://www.pdfforge.org/pdfcreator
• Install AceHtml
