闲话小克 - 断章取字

书仍在读，读到一些说法觉得很有趣，so far 攒了下面这几句：

前两句在前面的帖子里聊过了，重复放这一下，挺好玩的：

1. 小克竞选州长是去偏僻地区听到的不少他以前从未听过的方言方语，其中他最喜欢的是：
I wouldn't piss into his ear if his brain was on fire.
咱社有了解麦迪森，扭黑文一带方言的人一定知道这话是咋回事。

2. 小克谈及职场政治时，深有感触地说：
If he can shift heat to others, he will do that every time.
真真的，呵呵。在美洲估计shift heat to others 的情况似乎比较多。

3. Yitzhak Rabin，以色列第五任总理（92年-95年）， 签署巴以协议前对于阿拉法特握手表示很无奈，曾经这样说：
One does not make peace with one's friends.
仔细想想世上的乱麻， 不论是故意，非故意还是误解拧出来的，还真是这个理儿。

4. 在小克母亲的葬礼上，一个朋友的悼词中曾讲到他母亲的坚韧性格：
Mother's automatic response to every problem: "That's no hill for a stepper。"
前两天俺和同事午饭时聊起小克他妈，提起这句话，同事说：“What a woman!"

5. 加州经历过不少灾难，地震，火灾，旱灾，等等。94年一月洛杉矶发生严重地震灾难时，小克去灾区视察灾情。 就在这饱受多难的地方与当地官员交谈时，那官员对他说： “I'm just waiting for a plague of locusts." 官员富有幽默感的言谈话语引起小克的如此联想： “Mother Teresa's famous observation that she knew God would never give her a heavier burden than she could carry, but sometimes she wished He didn't have so much confidence in her."
呵呵，读到这儿，试想过就这句话的意思，换换说法会如何？
