好像前不久有个案例，大英帝国的电台DJ，在节目里乱开玩笑，说女王死了，事后不得不道歉，不知道有没有被开除。

The internet is the largest communication medium today. So what you post out there is essentially within the public domain, regardless of your intention.
I'm not sure if what she said falls within 'political correctness' though.. it has more to do with CNN's general stand point on issues regarding the middle east.

这里面本来就有几个方面的问题：1、她说的话有没有问题
2、她违反了哪项法律
3、就是老柞说的，那项法律是否应该存在
当然，我说的其实还不是这几个，我说的是：美国人也不是那么地言论自由。

很有意思的是：她是中东问题记者，谈论的是中东矛盾的双方。表达支持一方的观点又有什么问题呢。难道美国人只能说支持以色列的言论？连以色列人都容许两头辩论呢。要不以色列人总认为犹太教极端分子都跑美国去了呢。哎，美国愚民们太可怜了。

当然，这个例子完全是pointless。哪里的言论自由都是一定范围内的自由，除了显明的法律，还包括每个社会所固有的那些“约定俗成”，这些文化、传统和道德上的“禁忌”之所以成为“禁忌”，正是因为每时每刻都有人在一次一次地挑战它而被迫接受惩罚。向一个“大众公敌"表达敬意让某人而丢掉了工作，即使是在标榜“言论自由”的西方国家也并非难以想象，难道真有人天真到以为“言论自由”就是说什么都可以么？ 这个案例之所有有趣，一是因为“推特”，二是因为涉及的“大众公敌”没那么黑白分明，换句话说，整个事件很有新闻“价值”，估计不会就这么简单结束了。

i was hoping that you could at least list the main points on the subject i questioned.. but yes. I can find such book myself.. then again, they might very well be too biased and limited in scope.

到目前为止，和法律嘛关系都没有。

这个事件最好的结果应该是这样的，编辑本人拒不道歉，CNN强行开除她的职务，编辑雇佣律师状告CNN，案子一直打到最高法院。。。

可惜，编辑本人道歉服软了，不知道这里面有没有幕后交易，如果这个事件不走法律程序就这么不了了之，那才是“自由国家”的真正悲哀。

hohoho.. i was (kind of.. ) hoping for the same.. then it really gets interesting.
given the political atmosphere in the US today.. she probably wouldn't go very far with the legal battle. Then again, the harder the case, the more interesting and significant the outcome would be.

这个事件如果要作哲学抽象的讨论，就不能限于中东问题的两派观点，可以是任何问题的N种观点，人类社会的各种禁忌从历史上看是逐渐减少，社会的“宽容度”逐渐增加，“政治正确”与“言论自由”好比文武之道，一张一弛，哪个都不能走极端，还是胡哥会说，要“和谐社会”，呵呵。
