虽然我们在网上说明珠问题会受到中国的限制，但是到了美国，连死了人表示一下悲哀都要丢工作，多么地自由啊。

哈，我其实已经提过不止一次，在中国，至少多数人对管制心理是有数的，冒犯的人心里有准备。当然，我并不是说中国这种做法就对。可是呢，在所谓的自由王国，悲哀的是，那么多人居然以为自己真正地享有言论自由，而且犯了忌讳遭到报复之后不是寻求国际人权组织的保护，而是当众自抽嘴巴。羞辱啊。那些整天对着中国叫唤言论自由的NGO大妈们也不知道这会儿干什么去了。

    hmmm. interesting. i suppose when you are a somewhat public figure like her you can't simply say what you have on your mind, and worse yet, put it within a job related context, even if it is just twitting.
They've invented a new term for it now : 'twittercide'.

but does this whole incident qualify as a breach of freedom of speech? not so sure.

I'm not interested in middle east news... I don't have BBC (or CNN) on cable ..

but i thought CNN isn't regarded as a good source for news and analysis of current events in general?.. anyway, that was just a side comment.

there is a small but important difference 韩寒 is a freelance writer/journalist/commentator.
I dont think he's car racing boss/sponsor cared what he said online.. at long as they don't interfere with them making money.

BTW Guardian is also not so well regarded. It is known for its extreme left views and one of editors turned to support Lib Dam and was criticised by its Labour Loyalist readers.

I have no idea how known or not known she is in the domain of middle east news and current affairs. I just looked through her CV. Apparently she's been working in this area for 20 years and gotten numerous awards because of her contribution. A CNN sensor editor isn't exactly a nobody. How this is reflected on an average tv viewer (although I don't consider your husband as an average tv viewer) however, is a different matter.
