TAIPEI, Oct. 5 (Xinhua) -- Fourteen tourists from a Chinese mainland tour group were sent to emergency rooms in a hospital in Hualien County on Friday due to suspected food poisoning.
Members of the tour group began to show symptoms of vomiting and diarrhea Thursday afternoon after eating seafood meal in northwest Taipei's Yeliu resort, according to the island's tourism authorities.
As of 6:00 p.m. Friday, 11 of the 14 ill tourists left hospital while three children have to receive further examination and treatment, according to local Tourism Bureau.
It said that relevant departments had collected the "suspicious" food specimens for investigation and the result will be produced about a week later.
The 40-member tour group came from central China's Hubei Province and was scheduled to finish the travel on Oct. 7.
