很多中国人看了美国精英学校的教育,就回去说美国学校教育怎么样,仿佛美国学校都那样,给中国人造成的印象就是美国是天堂。但是他就没有意识到这些华人在美国是精英阶层。

Parents Angry Over Crowded School Bus
By: Rich Rodriguez Transportation officials for Hanford Schools got an earful this week from angry parents. Parents and students say a school bus was so crowded, kids had to sit on the floor. The head of transportation for Hanford Schools admits the bus was packed, but he claims the problem has been corrected. A crowded bus condition came to a boil Thursday. Freshman student Katelynn Lehar gets on the bus at the last stop on the route. "We got on. Everybody was on and already pushing and crowding. Stepped one foot on the bus and the driver said come on get on the bus we gotta go. We get one foot on the bus and people were already pushing backwards." Under those conditions Katelynn Lehar decided not to ride the bus Thursday. But Junior student Anthony Narcisse did. "Yesterday some kid was sitting on his knees in the middle of the bus there on the ground." Director of transportation Bruce Pickering says 81 students rode the bus Thursday morning. That's three students under the maximum. "The bus was crowded but kids weren't sitting in the aisles. We knew it was getting more crowded but everyday right after school starts it kind of grows a little bit. So this stop has been growing." Katelynn Lehar says bus overcrowding has been a problem since school started on Monday. "I didn't see it yesterday but before in the week there were people sitting on the floor this whole week. There was people sitting on the floor in the aisles when I rode the bus." Julie Lance whose granddaughter rides the bus was irate. She wrote us... "3 per seat and the entire floor was full. No one had any concern for our children's safety. For that the bus driver should be fired." Pickering says his department recognized the problem and added another bus to relieve overcrowding. "Absolutely. It's taken care of. When we get the calls we deal with them immediately. I don't want to pack them in that tight either." |
